Creating beauty products can be as simple as putting a formula in a plastic bottle or it can be an inspiring, laborious battle to make something that satisfies all senses and ticks all the boxes. I believe everyday items and surroundings should be beautiful and thoughtfully put together. Sustainability

Miko Cosmetics takes pride in practicing new and creative ways to limit the impact on our planet. The zero waste approach is practiced where possible, compostable materials are utilised and packaging materials from suppliers are re-purposed. If you would like to avoid excess packaging and waste, consider requesting a pickup or have your product refilled in the same container it came in for a discount price.

Cultural learning

We are all shaped by our culture and experiences. I take this into consideration when developing my products so that the entire experience of using them can be positive. In the Western world we might associate the smell of Lavender with relaxation and candles with romance. You’ll find a hint of nature in all my designs and aromas that I believe will take you places or perhaps make you feel more at home. You can read more about my approach on my blog.

Supporting local

All ingredients in my formulas come from local suppliers in Australia. Everything is made by hand. Most of my oils, clays, waxes, herbs, and special ingredients are from suppliers in Western Australia and NSW. If you would like to purchase something unique to this beautiful continent, then consider selecting something with Kunzea Oil, one of Australia’s native plants that was traditionally used by Indigenous communities for therapeutic benefits and today plays an important role in sand dune stabilisation.
